In my opinion, if you want to control small expenses you have to kow where to find them. Say you’re at your brother’s football practice and you become hot. You have some water with you but you want soda so you get some. Or you have plenty of nice shirts and you see one you just have to have. These are our small expenses. The sad truth is, that when we see something we want, our brain says yes. But the logic center is saying no; but in the moment all you hear is yes! Not that saying yeas is bad. If you’re hungry and want a candy bar, it’s OK as long as you don’t give into the yes all the time. You may have heard this before: want vs need. Well this is exactly what I’m talking about. We have to stop and thin and ask ourselves, “OK, do I really need this right now?” Because sooner or later, you’re going to run out of pennies. These days every little bit counts. If you save up every last bit of money, you could get something worthwhile. Being wise with money is going back to one of the first life lessons you’ve ever know: right from wrong. Now, nobody’s perfect, I know I’m not, but making improvements is the key, even if you don’t struggle with this…so be wise.
